Dr. Thomas Biuso is a graduate of New York Medical College. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a fellow in the Society of Hospital Medicine and in the American College of Physicians. He received his MBA at Penn State University and has been a physician executive for many years. He was named one of 10 hospitalists of the year by his peers in the American College of Physicians in 2009. He practices medicine part time as a hospitalist at Tucson Medical Center.

Dr. Biuso is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona where he teaches the medical residents and students clinical medicine. He is a member of the senior editorial board of Population Health Management and is the author of the book The American Epidemic: Obesity, Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome: What’s Your Risk? Prescription for Prevention as well as several journal articles on prediabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Dr. Biuso has been with UnitedHealthcare for 8 years and is one of the senior medical directors in the West region. His work is primarily focused on accountable care organizations and shared savings with hospital systems in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. His main interest is in population health management, the delivery of quality health care, and the education of physicians in training.
